We would first like to thank Liam Morrison for his incredible contributions to the Lake Louise Ski Clubs. He assures us he will be with the club coaching this season but is stepping down as Head Coach to ensure his success in his masters program. Please check out his introduction letter and join me in congratulating Thibault on his new role with the club. Stay tuned for other important information and as always, have a great day. A Note from ThibaultHi Freeride Families! I am honoured to be stepping into the role of Head Coach for our Freeride program, and wanted to share a bit about my background and vision for the club! I’m originally from Chamrousse, a small town in the Alps in France, where I developed a strong passion for skiing. I moved to Canada some time ago, and after three years programming video games in an office in Montreal, I realized my true calling was to work outdoors in the mountains. After a couple of years of travel, I moved to Western Canada and began working as a ski instructor and freestyle ski coach in Sun Peaks in 2014. I immediately loved sharing my passion for skiing with everyone and instantly knew that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. From that moment, I dedicated myself to continuous personal development as an instructor and coach, as I shared my passion for skiing with kids and adults. I’m now a CSIA Level 4 instructor and I am one of the main trainers for freestyle ski instructors in the country. I’m also a Freestyle Canada Supercoach (qualified to train any single invert on trampoline, water ramp, airbag, and on snow) and a learning facilitator for new freestyle and freeride coaches. I have trained athletes and instructors for 13 seasons now, mostly in Canada but also in Argentina, China, and with a high-level freeski team in New Zealand. I was at Lake Louise the last nine years, working four seasons with the ski school and four seasons with ULLR before joining the Lake Louise Ski Clubs two seasons ago. I am also thrilled to announce that Tom Garstang will be joining me in a leadership position. His extensive experience and infectious enthusiasm will be an exceptional asset, adding significant value and fun to all our training sessions. I hope our expertise will help the club grow, developing athletes to achieve their goals within a fun, inclusive, and supportive team environment. My vision includes offering enhanced training and mentorship for our coaching team, further elevating the quality of instruction and supporting coaches in their own development. Additionally, we will prioritize athlete-centred training, ensuring each athlete receives the tailored support they need to achieve their individual goals, leading to more balanced and effective group dynamics. We will also have a full invert program with trampoline, water ramp, and airbag in summer and fall, and regular airbag sessions along the winter (all February and March). The core of our training will remain the same: fun practices in a supportive and inclusive environment. However, we will introduce just a little more structure and opportunities for technical and specific training to further promote athlete development. More details on Summer/Fall invert training program soon. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thibault Gavin PreziosiExecutive Director Lake Louise Ski Clubs Comments are closed.
