We’re thrilled to share that the 2025 Calgary New & Used Ski Sale was a resounding success — with nearly $1.4 million in merchandise sold and 10,000 attendees over the weekend! This achievement makes 2025 our second-best sale ever, just behind the record-setting 2023 event. With a record inventory of $2.6 million, our volunteer team cleared the Max Bell Centre arena floor earlier than ever before — a remarkable feat that speaks to the dedication and efficiency of everyone involved. This year’s sale was powered by the collective efforts of the Calgary Ski Club, the Canadian Ski Patrol – Calgary Zone, and the Lake Louise Ski Club, with proceeds supporting vital programs in recreational skiing, competitive youth ski programs, and ski safety education throughout Calgary and the Bow Valley corridor. 🏆 Volunteer Recognition We also want to spotlight two amazing people from the LLSC's community who were honoured at the volunteer appreciation dinner for their outstanding individual leadership and the impact they had on this year’s sale: 🌟 Muneer Gilani – Outstanding Executive Award As the head of the Shop Consignment Department, Muneer brought focus, calm, and results-driven leadership to a critical role. Muneer is only in his second year as a parent with the Lake Louise Ski Clubs, yet he graciously stepped into this demanding position and delivered exceptional results. We are deeply grateful for his commitment and contributions. 🛠️ Nicholas McCurry – Builder Award The Builder Award is the highest honour the sale can bestow, and this year it goes to Nicholas McCurry, head of the IT Department. Nick developed and implemented the new software system that powered our operations — a bold and transformative step. As one organizer put it, “We were flying the plane while it was still under construction — and it was an excellent journey.” Most of you may not know this, but Nick is also a proud Lake Louise Ski Clubs alumni, having started in the Nancy Greene program and raced through U16. Today, he continues to make a significant impact on our club and community through his technical leadership and unwavering dedication to the ski sale. THANK YOU MUNEER AND NICK 🙌 Thank You to All Volunteers This year’s success was made possible by the incredible efforts of our volunteers, who navigated leadership transitions and new systems with grace and determination. Your work supports the growth and safety of skiing in our region — and we couldn’t be more proud. Here’s to another great season on the slopes!
