This weekend, the U14 team competed at Nakiska in the SG Jay Cup series. After putting in a tremendous amount of work over the past few weeks to prepare for the race and overcoming a challenging training day on Friday due to poor snow conditions, the team truly excelled. All athletes finished in the middle of the pack or higher, with several achieving personal bests and overcoming mental barriers associated with SG. A huge shout out to Holly Inglis and Ryan Orchard for earning their personal best results of the season, and Holly was awarded with the “Most Improved” plaque which showcased her ability to attack the race, regardless of her starting position. Additionally, two athletes had standout performances: Carmen Bullock showed consistent improvement throughout the weekend, securing a win in the final race. Meanwhile, Emilio Hrazdira earned the Jay Cup after three victories over the two days. The club is extremely proud of the U14 athletes for their determination, resilience, and dedication throughout the season. This weekend, every athlete showcased their growth and passion for the sport, both on and off the race course, and we are excited to see how the rest of the season unfolds for the team!
