Rain, Snow and Sunshine: Our Fryatt Hut Adventure
From September 25–27, a small group of our freeride athletes headed to Fryatt Hut in Jasper for three days of adventure, shared challenges and fun together before the ski season.
The trip began with a 14 km bike ride followed by a 10 km hike up to the hut, mostly in the rain—a proper adventure right from the start! Rain and snow didn’t stop the group from enjoying the outdoors, and the hut made a welcome base for the next two nights. Day two brought time to explore the surrounding area, play games and enjoy being together in the mountains. All that biking and hiking also made for great pre-season conditioning, helping us get ready for the winter ahead.
For our final day, the weather couldn’t have been better. Stunning sunshine and mountain views made the hike and bike ride back along the same route a spectacular way to finish the weekend.
A huge thank-you to all the families who helped with carpooling and meal preparation, making this trip possible. And thank you to the athletes for bringing such a positive attitude, taking on the wet weather and doing their share of the chores. Everyone pitched in to make it a great experience.
We’d love to see more adventures like this next season! If this sounds like your kind of trip, let us know—your interest will help shape future opportunities to get outside together.
