LLSCs FRAMEWORK FOR RETURN TO SNOW - COVID 19 UPDATE
Updated November 1, 2021
Scope – All Lake Louise Ski Club operations
Principles – Our collective risk is reduced if we follow these policies and principles. We will continue to adhere to rules, guidelines and policies of Alberta Alpine Ski Association, Alberta Health Services, other local health authorities (Alberta-based or when out of province, as applicable), Lake Louise Ski Area, WinSport (as applicable), and away hill guidelines (as applicable).
Vaccine Policy – As a Club, to ensure the safety of all athletes, coaches and members, and to ensure operational consistency and efficiency, we have decided to implement a vaccine policy for all coaches and registered athletes. The Lake Louise Ski Area has implemented Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program (REP) for all indoor/enclosed spaces, which includes all lodges and the gondola. Further, WinSport has implemented the REP for all activities and spaces on their premises, including the day lodge, the ski lifts and the alpine ski slope. As our coaches and athletes train and use the Lake Louise Ski Area and WinSport (as applicable), compliance with their respective policies is required. For the safety of all athletes, including the ability to ride the gondola as a group and to go indoors in extreme cold, for breaks or when other situations require same, we are requiring all coaches and registered athletes that are vaccine-eligible (12+) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to participation in ski programming for the 2021-2022 ski season.
Additional COVID-19 Measures – Additional measures are also in place to ensure safety of members, coaches and athletes and compliance with applicable guidelines, which include the following:
Please note that access to day lodge areas and certain other facilities at the Lake Louise Ski Area, WinSport, away hills and other venues associated with our ski programming are subject to the REP and we encourage all members to come prepared with proof of vaccine and acceptable identification as needed to ensure access and participation. The Lake Louise Ski Club will not be monitoring or facilitating individual access to applicable facilities on an on-going basis, that remains the responsibility of each member, coach and athlete.
The Lake Louise Ski Club has zero-tolerance for abuse of the vaccine policy, disregard for health and safety rules, and disrespect of our team members. We thank you in advance for doing your part to keep our members safe and ensure the on-going and effective delivery of our programming.
