*** Updated for the 2023-2024 Season ***
Members must volunteer for at least one financial opportunity and one community building opportunity. This is a minimum of 5 points per athlete up to 10 points per family for each opportunity.
A member can elect not to volunteer by paying an additional amount per athlete based on the table below. A family will be required to collect points for up to two athletes (i.e., if a family has more than two athletes, they will be required to volunteer for two). A volunteer package will be added at registration time to each athlete’s cart as per the amounts below. A $1 deposit will be taken at registration and the balance will be post-dated until May 15, 2024. If full points are earned over the course of the season, the post-dated payment will be cancelled. If you are a family with 3 or more athletes participating in our programming, Member Services will remove the package from your additional athletes. There will be other opportunities that come available throughout the season. All members are encouraged to help where they can. It’s a great opportunity to get to know each other and help grow our club! |

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Lake Louise Ski Clubs is a volunteer driven organization; the experience our children have is enhanced through parent participation.
If everyone pitches in when they can, we are sure to find success as a club. As many parents will attest, your participation will enrich the overall experience for you and your athlete(s). Notices will be sent throughout the year with requests for volunteers. Some of our annual commitments and volunteer opportunities include:
Casinos – Lake Louise Ski Club have a casino opportunity. These enable the Club to keep our fees as reasonable as possible. The volunteer jobs are easy to learn, very social and require no previous experience.
Calgary New & Used Ski Sale – This annual event is held in October at the Maxbell Arena. Again, no experience is required and a perk is that volunteers get first pick of the consigned equipment! There are a specific number of spots that need to be filled and if every family fills a spot then we meet our club commitment.
Club Races– Club races organized for our athletes require volunteers in many different roles. This is a GREAT way to learn about how races are run. No experience is necessary and you will come away having learned a lot! The biggest benefit is the opportunity to cheer on our youngest racers as they fly down the courses!
Alberta Alpine Races hosted at the Lake Louise Ski Resort – Each year the club hosts a few races that athletes from all over the province come to attend. We need all hands-on deck in order to make these races a success – that includes experienced volunteers and everyone else too!
NOTE: Going forward, tail-gunning will no longer count toward volunteer time. Tail gunners remain welcome, at the request of the coaches.
These are just of few of the opportunities that are already on the calendars, but more will come up throughout the season so stay tuned!
