We can't wait to get on snow with athletes this summer! Check your inboxes for registration details and info on this project. Any questions should be directed to Athletic Director Jennifer Clarridge, or All Mountain Head Coach Liam Morrison. Once we have reached the registration deadline a spring parent meeting will be scheduled for more details and camp logistics. Jennifer Clarridge Athletic Director, Lake Louise Ski Clubs It's not too late to get your LLSC gear from Tuxedo Sports. In addition to new items, including base layer tops, in the store this year, we have new logo options for the Grizzlies and All Mountain. Check it out before the store closes in early March!
Dear Lake Louise Ski Club Families, I hope you're enjoying another exhilarating season on the slopes and with snow on the way this weekend as well as lots of events, let's hope we go out with a bang! As we continually strive to enhance your chidrens' experiences and uphold the values of our RISE program—Respect, Inclusion, Support, and Effort—we invite you to share your insights and feedback through our annual member survey. Your input is invaluable in helping us celebrate our successes and address any challenges head-on. To foster transparency and direct communication, the survey will not be anonymous. This ensures that we can follow up personally on any concerns, making sure every family is heard and every issue is addressed. This survey is your opportunity to reflect on the season and let us know what's worked, what hasn't, and how your children have benefited from our programs. Whether it's the professionalism of our coaching staff, the community atmosphere, or how we live up to our motto, "WE LOVE TO SKI, JOIN US!", we're eager to hear from you. Please, take a moment to complete the survey and help us continue to create a nurturing, challenging, and inclusive environment for our skiers. Your feedback directly influences our strategic direction and helps us maintain our standing as one of Canada’s prime environments for skiing excellence and passion. Thank you for being a part of our community. Together, we're not just skiing; we're building lifelong skiers and friends! Stavros KarlosPresident, Lake Louise Ski Clubs With March madness (many moving parts and events) just around the corner, I wanted to bring your attention to our Cheer or Volunteer concept while attending a race or freeride competitions. While at an event, we encourage all our parents to attend and show support to our athletes. The best ways do so, is to register as a volunteer or find a good spot to watch from on the hill and cheer. It should be noted that venues are very different, some require a lift ticket to watch, and some may not require volunteers from visiting clubs which leaves you with the cheering option. Volunteering is a great way to engage with the community, learn best practices of hosting an event, learn about the sport and to be a part of the action. Bonus fact: It typically comes with a free lift ticket and a lunch. If you choose to volunteer, the first step is to ensure you are a registered member of Alberta Alpine for insurance purposes (check out https://www.lakelouiseskiclubs.ca/newsfeed/urgent-alberta-alpine-parent-membership for more details). Without your confirmed registration, you will not be allowed inside the fences. Should you choose to cheer, which is also recommended and required sometimes (no one should volunteer at every race), we ask you to do so from outside the fences and respect the coaches’ roles and responsibilities (https://www.lakelouiseskiclubs.ca/roles.html). Have fun at the races, make friends, show your support to the athletes, and as always act with the RISE principles in mind. Gavin PreziosiExecutive Director, Lake Louise Ski Clubs With our Comp/Race seasons underway it has been brought to our attention that it is absolutely essential for ALL parents to register as General Members with Alberta Alpine. This ensures that each of you are insured to volunteer at both at Lake Louise and other ski resorts. Going forward, ROCs and event hosts WILL be checking you are a member in good standing before you will be allowed to volunteer at any sanctioned competition or in- house events including Grizzly Cup, Voli Cup and the Doug Meyers Invitational. This year, there has been a shift from the previous framework of automatically charging membership fees when registering athletes to a per-parent membership model. Unlike the previous Family Membership structure that covered everyone upon registration, the new approach requires individual membership for each parent. If you're unsure whether you've previously registered for your 2023/24 membership, you can refer to our VOLUNTEER TRACKING SHEET under the 'Parents can volunteer' column. Those who have already registered with Alberta Alpine will have a check mark beside their name.

Throughout the season, Ski West has been an invaluable partner, not only providing top-notch access to equipment and their dedication to our club and our athletes goes above and beyond, and we're incredibly grateful for their ongoing support.
Their commitment to fostering a love for the sport and removing barriers to participation is truly commendable, and we're proud to have them on board as a key sponsor.
