This Safe Sport information session is intended for parents and to bring more awareness to Safe Sport as it will help you understand what Safe Sport is, what it is not and how to go about reporting incidents. All parents are encouraged to attend this free session hosted by ITP in association with AASA.

This session is appropriate for parents of Grizzles, All Mountain and Race athletes!

Alberta Alpine needs our help!  They are short volunteers for their upcoming casino next week, Tuesday November 7 & Wednesday, November 8.  All shifts are evening shifts starting at either 7 or 11 pm.  If you are available please reach out directly to Alberta Alpine Member Services at ​memberservices@albertaalpine.ca.  

Alberta Alpine is hosting the officials update this weekend with the option to join on either Saturday or Sunday from 9am-12pm. Information and registration can be found on the Alberta Alpine calendar. This update is a refresher for all current Level 1, 2 & 3 officials. Both sessions are offered virtually. Deadline to register is Nov 2nd at 11pm. 

Level 1 officials course will be offered in house at a later date. Please watch your inbox for further details.

Level 2 and 3 courses should be populating the AASA calendar shortly.

We are incredibly excited to announce a new partnership with Ski West.  Ski West is generously donating a $1000 gift card to each of our Skier for Life Bursary recipients starting this year!

This bursary program was started by the club in 2021 and is intended to help keep athletes involved in competitive alpine skiing.  The club sets aside 2% of the previous seasons' program fees to help families by providing up to a 50% discount on an athletes basic fees.  Ski West's partnership in the program will go a long way in achieving the Clubs' goal of keeping young athletes in the sport!

I'd like to take a moment to thank each of you who have already registered yourself as a volunteer with Alberta Alpine this season. 

For those who have not, this is a friendly reminder that every parent with the club needs to be registered independently of their athlete.  This fee replaces the Family Membership you have had to purchase in past seasons.  This change is in anticipation of Safe Sport agreement requirements for individuals.

It is important to note that it is essential for all parents that this be completed before their athletes start on snow this fall as you will not be able to volunteer without completing the registration.

We are extremely excited to once again be partnering with Mountain Guide, and club parent Lisa Paulson, to offer our membership a numerous options to expand their snow safety and avalanche skills knowledge this season.  Lisa brings her passion and extensive experience to our parents and athletes though both on and off snow education through program options including AST 1 & AST 2 courses, hands on refresher courses, youth safety courses focusing on safety within the resort boundaries, etc.
